Common signs and symptoms include:

◾Instant upper back/ neck pain when using a handheld device
◾Muscle fatigue
◾General shoulder pain & tightness.
◾If the cervical nerve is pinched, pain and possible neurological symptoms (numbness, tingling, weakness) can radiate down to your arm and into your hand
◾Chronic headaches made worse when looking down or using a device

Tips to avoid or minimize this problem are:
—Level the playing field: Hold your phone or position your device at eye level as much as possible

— Stretch: Perform neck, back, and shoulder stretches throughout the day

—Practice good posture Stop texting…so much: spend some time away from your device by designating “no phone” periods during the day
